Phoenix Park is a family owned and operated business. The Ramsey family have been generational farmers since first settling in Australia in the early 1800's. From humble beginnings of horse drawn cropping and mustering in the harsh, arid West Coast of South Australia, today Dr John Ramsey and his family focus on breeding purebred Lipizzaner Horses.  Alongside their daughter and son-in-law Amanda and Wayne Klaassen, John and Sue restructured their family farming business in 2008 after the purchase of their Lipizzaner colt 266 Favory Marta.

We have 5 charming children whom without their enthusiasm and help, Phoenix Park would not be the Stud it is today. It is through them that Phoenix Park will continue into the future. 

Each and every one of our children maintain all the Lipizzaner’s daily and are completely immersed in the training and riding of every Lipizzaner including our stallions. Throughout our many trials, our children have risen above all challenges to create their own legacy in Phoenix Park Lipizzaner Stud. We have no doubt that the knowledge they gain being raised with this breed will make them wonderful custodians and ambassadors of the Lipizzaner horse in the future.
